General

What do you produce?

We specialise in the production of architectural models, physical models, prototypes and spatial objects. We combine digital technologies, above all 3D printing and CNC machining, with traditional model-making and craft techniques.

We produce architectural and urban models, models of buildings and interiors, presentation and competition models, prototypes, art objects and smaller production series.

We work with supplied 3D data, but if needed we also help with editing it, preparing it for production, or converting a design into physical form.

We approach every commission individually, according to the required scale, material, level of detail, technology and purpose of the final model.

Who do you produce architectural models for?

We produce architectural and spatial models for architects and architectural studios, organisers of architectural competitions, towns and municipalities, companies, developers and investors, museums and galleries, artists, designers, as well as students of architecture and art schools.

Models can serve as part of an architectural competition, a project presentation, an exhibition, an urban study, a negotiation with an investor, or as part of an artwork.

Besides individual commissions, we also carry out prototypes, larger projects and serial production. We approach every commission individually, according to its purpose, scale, required level of detail and the way it will be presented.

Which type of model is suitable for my project?

The suitable type of model depends above all on the purpose, the scale and the required level of detail. A competition model calls for a different approach than a presentation model for an investor, an urban model, or a model intended for an exhibition.

We will help you choose a suitable scale, material, production technology and way of finishing. Depending on the need, 3D printing, CNC machining, manual model-making techniques and other technologies can be combined.

If you are not sure how to design or produce the model, you can send us the basic materials for the project. Together we will propose a solution that matches both its purpose and its budget.

In what scale can you produce a model?

We produce models across a wide range of scales – from small detailed models to extensive architectural and urban models.

Most often we work with the scales 1:1, 1:5, 1:20, 1:50, 1:100, 1:200, 1:500, 1:1000 and 1:2000, depending on the character of the project and the required level of detail. We always choose the scale with regard to the size of the model, its purpose, the required level of detail and the production technology.

If you are not sure which scale is suitable, we will gladly recommend the optimal solution based on the specific project.

Can you produce a model from 3D data as well as from a physical original?

Yes. We can work with finished 3D data, with physical originals, and also with commonly available source materials.

We can create a model for example on the basis of map and publicly available data, aerial photographs, material from Google Maps, photographs, or printed drawings and plans. According to the available materials we create or adjust a 3D model and then prepare it for the chosen production technology.

Depending on its character, a physical original can be 3D scanned, digitised or converted into digital form in another way.

So if you do not have a finished 3D model, that is not an obstacle. Just supply the materials you have available and together we will find a way to create the final model from them.

How does the production of an architectural model proceed from design to completion?

Every model begins with a consultation and an assessment of the available source materials. Together we determine the purpose of the model, the scale, the required level of detail, the materials, the way it will be finished and the delivery date.

Next comes the preparation or adjustment of the digital data and the design of the production procedure. Depending on the character of the project we combine 3D printing, CNC machining, manual model-making techniques and other production technologies.

For more demanding commissions we may first create a test piece or a partial part of the model and verify how it turns out. After production we finish the individual parts as needed, assemble them and apply the surface finish.

The result is a model ready for the required way of presentation, for installation or for further use.

How much does the production of an architectural model cost?

The price always depends on the specific project. What matters above all is the size and scale of the model, the amount of detail, the materials used, the production technology, the extent of manual work and the required deadline.

For every commission we first assess the available source materials and propose a suitable way of production. We then prepare an individual price quotation.

For an indicative calculation it is enough to send us basic information about the project, the required scale, the dimensions and the available source materials. The more precise the materials we have, the more precise the resulting calculation can be.

How long does the production of a model take?

The production time depends on the size and complexity of the model, the amount of detail, the chosen material and the production technology. The state of the supplied source materials also plays a role – with prepared 3D data the preparation can be considerably faster than with a project that first has to be converted into 3D form.

We set the deadline individually for each commission. After assessing the source materials we will tell you the expected production time and agree a specific completion date.

A production slot can be reserved in advance, which we recommend especially for architectural competitions, exhibitions and other projects with a fixed submission or installation date.

For more time-demanding projects, production can be divided into individual stages and its progress consulted continuously.

Can you also produce an atypical or very complex model?

Yes. Designing production procedures for demanding, atypical and complex shapes is one of the areas we have long been working in.

For projects that cannot easily be produced using ordinary model-making techniques, we look for an individual solution. We combine digital modelling with 3D printing, CNC machining, manual work, casting and other technologies according to the character of the specific project.

We often design the production procedure directly according to the geometry of the object, the required scale, the material and the final quality. For more complex projects we may first create a test sample or a prototype and verify the final technology on that basis.

Is it possible to consult the production before placing an order?

Yes. Consultation is an important part of preparing a commission and of the whole production process for us, and we devote due attention to it. It is often during the consultation that the final form of the model, and its success with the customer and with the audience the model is intended for, is decided.

Together we go through the intention, the available source materials, the scale, the materials, the required level of detail and the production options. For atypical projects we look for a suitable production procedure and, if appropriate, recommend adjustments to the design so that it makes sense technically, visually and economically.

The consultation also allows us to understand better what the model is meant to convey, who it is intended for and how it will be presented. Accordingly we can adapt not only the production technology, but also the scale, the material, the level of detail or the way it is finished.

Even before production starts you thus gain an idea of the proposed solution, the expected price and the time required.

Architectural models

What kinds of architectural models do you produce?

We produce architectural, urban and presentation models in various scales and levels of detail. We adapt every model to its purpose – it can serve as a working tool for the architect, as material for an architectural competition, as a presentation model for an investor, as an exhibition piece or as a means of communicating the project to the public.

We deal for example with the production of models of individual buildings, groups of buildings, interiors, public spaces, urban complexes and models of cities.

Besides classic architectural models, we also work on atypical and experimental spatial models, for which a specific way of construction and production has to be found.

Depending on the character of the project we combine digital technologies with manual work and other production procedures so that the resulting model corresponds to its purpose, scale and required expression.

Do you produce models for architectural competitions?

Yes. The production of models for architectural competitions is among our frequent commissions. We can work with a fixed deadline, with competition requirements and with the specific conditions of the brief.

We will help with the choice of a suitable material, level of detail and production technology so that the model represents the proposed solution well and at the same time meets the requirements of the competition.

With competition models the organisation of production is also important. A slot can be reserved sufficiently in advance, and for larger commissions production can be divided into individual stages.

If you do not have complete 3D data prepared, we can also prepare the model from the available source materials.

Can you produce an urban model or a model of a city?

Yes. We produce urban models, models of cities, city districts, public spaces and larger territories. A model can serve for presenting an urban design, territorial development, an architectural competition, an exhibition or communication with the public.

In creating them we can work not only with supplied 3D models and drawings, but also with map data, terrain elevation data, aerial photographs and other available geographic data. From these materials we can create a digital model of the area and prepare it for subsequent physical production.

Depending on the purpose of the model we jointly choose a suitable scale, the degree of simplification and the way the terrain, built-up areas, roads, greenery and other elements are represented. With urban models, legibility of the whole is the most important thing for us – we therefore always adapt the amount of detail to what the model is meant to convey to the visitor or to the client.

We can also handle large models composed of several parts, which makes transport, installation or future updating of individual parts of the territory easier.

What materials do you use for architectural models?

We choose the material according to the character of the project, the scale, the required detail, the way of presentation and the final expression of the model.

Natural and traditional materials are represented above all by paper, wood, plaster and concrete. We work with the materials further – for example they can be dyed or pigmented to achieve the required colour and material expression.

For precise and shape-demanding elements we also use 3D printing, above all from PLA, which compared with many other plastics has a more favourable environmental profile.

For the production of larger structural parts and precise components we use sheet materials such as MDF and plywood, which we machine mainly by CNC.

We also work with volume materials such as glued board, polystyrene and polyurethane compounds, which we use for example for modelling, machining or preparing moulds and castings.

Materials and technologies can be combined with one another. We always look for the best way to translate the intention of the project into physical form through the material.

Can you combine 3D printing with manual model making?

Yes. Combining digital technologies with traditional model-making techniques is one of the foundations of our approach to producing models.

We use 3D printing or CNC machining where they bring precision, repeatability or make it possible to create complex geometry. Manual model-making techniques, on the other hand, we use where working with the material, the surface, the detail or the final expression of the model matters.

We choose the technology according to what each part of the model has to do and what the resulting whole should be.

Can you adjust the colour of a model or apply a surface finish?

Yes. After production, models can be further surface-treated, painted, pigmented, sanded, filled or otherwise finished according to the required final appearance.

For each material we choose a suitable way of treatment. We can for example preserve the natural character of wood or concrete, or dye the material or give it a surface finish.

With 3D printed parts the surface can be treated so that the resulting model does not look like a “cheap” print but corresponds to the required character and way of presentation. We also use materials and production procedures that help suppress the typical “plastic” look of 3D printing.

We always address colour and surface treatment in relation to the overall concept of the model, its scale and its purpose.

Is it possible to produce a model with removable parts or an interior?

Yes. We can design a model as partly or fully dismountable, with removable parts, openable structures or separate components.

With architectural models it is possible, for example, to separate individual floors, parts of the building, the roof or the facade and thus allow a view into the interior. With urban models it is possible to handle, for example, the replacement of individual buildings or parts of the territory.

We design removable parts already during the preparation of the model so that they are structurally stable, easy to handle and at the same time disturb the final appearance as little as possible.

This approach is suitable above all for presentation and exhibition models, working models for architects, or models intended for long-term use and repeated handling.

Can you produce a model in several pieces that are then assembled?

Yes. Large or shape-complex models are routinely divided by us into individual parts which are then assembled into a single whole.

The division of the model can be designed with regard to production possibilities, transport, handling, installation or possible future modification of the model. The individual parts can be joined permanently or designed as dismountable.

With large architectural and urban models, dividing them into parts can also be a practical way of keeping the required scale and detail while maintaining reasonable dimensions of the individual pieces.

We design the way of dividing and joining already during the preparation of production so that the resulting model appears as a compact whole.

How do you handle the transport of a finished architectural model?

As a standard we transport finished models personally. Thanks to that we can ensure their safe transport and handover without the risk that an ordinary shipping service may present.

For large or sensitive models we address the way of transport already during the preparation of the commission. It is no problem to produce an individual transport case or structure for the model that will protect it during handling and transport.

If the model is composed of several parts, we can transport it disassembled and put it together on site. Depending on the character of the commission we can also provide placement and installation of the model on site.

Source materials and 3D data

What source materials do you need to produce a model?

You do not need to have a 3D model prepared, nor data ready directly for production. The preparation and adjustment of data for production is usually something we take care of ourselves.

We work mainly in SketchUp, Rhino and Blender and can process practically any common 3D format. We accept technical drawings for example in PDF or DWG format.

If you work in ArchiCAD, Revit, Nemetschek or another system, the data needs to be handed over in one of the suitable export formats. We can advise you on the export if needed.

We can also work with less usual or incomplete source materials – for example with photographs, map data, aerial photographs, printed drawings or publicly available data. From these we create the necessary digital data and prepare it for production.

We use current versions of our software. If you are not sure whether we can process your particular format or data from a certain program, do not hesitate to ask. We can verify compatibility in advance.

Which 3D formats do you accept?

We can work with most commonly used 3D formats. Most often we encounter the formats SKP, 3DM, OBJ, STL, FBX, 3DS, STEP and IGES.

For production and 3D printing we prepare the data according to the specific technology and the resulting model. Part of our work is also checking the geometry, scale, wall thickness and other parameters needed for trouble-free production.

If you use a different format, do not hesitate to ask. In many cases we can convert it or process it in another way.

With software such as ArchiCAD, Revit or Nemetschek the data usually needs to be exported into a suitable format first. We can advise you on the export.

Do I have to have my own 3D model, or can you create one?

You do not have to have your own 3D model. We are able to create or adjust 3D data according to the source materials you have available.

We can start from architectural drawings, floor plans, sections and elevations, photographs, map data, aerial photographs, printed documentation or publicly available data.

If you do have a 3D model, we can check it, adjust it and prepare it for the particular way of production. If you do not have one, we will create the necessary data ourselves.

You therefore do not need to worry in advance about whether you have sufficient source materials for 3D printing or another production technology. First we will jointly assess what is available and propose the next steps.

Can you repair or prepare a 3D model for production?

Yes. Preparing digital data for a particular production procedure is a routine part of our work.

We can check, repair and adjust the supplied model so that it corresponds to the required scale, detail and production technology. We deal for example with watertightness of the geometry, wall thickness, the size and articulation of individual parts, joints, or dividing the model for production and subsequent assembly.

With more complex projects we do not adjust the model only from the point of view of 3D printing. We think about the whole production procedure – from the digital data through the individual production operations up to the assembly and finishing of the resulting model.

If you have a 3D model that is not ready for production, that is not a problem. We can take care of preparing the necessary data.

What if my model is not suitable for 3D printing?

That is not a problem. The model does not have to be prepared in advance for 3D printing or for a particular production technology. We will assess its geometry and, according to the required result, propose a suitable way of production.

Sometimes the model can be adjusted so that it is suitable for 3D printing. In more complex cases, however, it may be more efficient to choose a different technology or to produce individual parts of the model in different ways.

Designing the production procedure according to the specific geometry is precisely one of the areas we specialise in. We combine 3D printing, CNC machining, casting, manual work and other procedures so that the resulting model matches the required appearance, precision and purpose.

If you are not sure whether your model can be produced, send us the data. We will assess it and propose a solution.

Can you work with data from SketchUp, Rhino, Revit or other programs?

Yes. We work mainly with SketchUp, Rhino and Blender, but we can process data from a whole range of other CAD and 3D programs.

If you work for example in ArchiCAD, Revit, Nemetschek or other specialised software, the data usually needs to be exported into a suitable format. We can advise you on the choice of format and on the export.

It does not depend only on the file format. It also matters how the data was created and what its purpose is. We always check the data and adjust it as needed so that it is usable for the particular way of production.

If you are not sure about the compatibility of your file, send it to us or ask first. We can verify a particular format in advance.

Can you convert a 2D drawing into a 3D model?

Yes. From floor plans, sections, elevations and other 2D drawings we can create a 3D model ready for further processing or physical production.

We work with digital drawings in formats such as DWG and PDF, but we can also handle printed drawings or other available source materials. At the same time we can combine individual pieces of information – for example supplement drawings with photographs, map data or other sources.

We create the resulting geometry with regard to the required scale and the way of production. With architectural models we also decide which parts have to be kept exact and which, on the contrary, it is appropriate to simplify for the given scale.

So if you only have 2D documentation and need a physical model created from it, we can prepare the 3D model for production ourselves.

Can you digitise an existing object using 3D scanning?

Yes. We can 3D scan existing objects and convert them into a digital form that can be worked with further.

We use 3D scanning for example for the digitisation of architecture, sculptural works, art objects, historical elements or physical models. The resulting data can then be adjusted, cleaned, scaled down or up and prepared for further processing or physical production.

Depending on the character of the object and the required precision we choose a suitable method of digitisation. With more complex objects we can combine 3D scanning with photogrammetry and other data sources.

Digitisation can thus be not only a means of creating a copy, but also the first step towards a new scale, modification, reinterpretation or further processing of the original object.

3D printing

What 3D printing technologies do you use?

We use various 3D printing technologies according to the required size, precision, detail, material and purpose of the resulting model.

We work mainly with FDM printing from plastic materials and with resin (SLA/MSLA) printing, which makes it possible to achieve very fine detail and precise surfaces.

We use FDM printing especially for larger parts, structural components, prototypes and models where production efficiency matters. We choose resin printing where detail, precision and surface quality are the priority, for example with small architectural elements, figures or complex shapes.

We choose the technology according to the specific project and, if needed, combine different technologies within a single model.

When is FDM more suitable and when resin 3D printing?

The choice of technology depends above all on the size of the model, the required precision, the amount of detail, the material and the final way of finishing.

FDM printing is suitable above all for larger objects and parts, structural components, prototypes or models where very fine detail does not have to be reproduced. Its advantages are a wide choice of materials and efficient production of larger volumes.

We use resin printing where high precision, fine detail and a quality surface matter. It is suitable for example for small-scale architecture, figures, articulated elements or complex geometries.

The technologies do not have to be used in isolation, however. Within a single model we can combine FDM, resin printing, CNC machining and manual work and choose for each part the procedure that makes most sense for it.

We do not determine the final technology according to what can be printed, but according to how the resulting model should look and what function it has to fulfil.

How large a model can you print?

We have large-format FDM printing available as well as resin SLA printing for very detailed models.

With FDM printing we can print up to a size of approximately 800 × 800 × 1000 mm within a single part, depending on the specific geometry.

With SLA printing the maximum build volume is approximately 220 × 120 × 230 mm. We use this technology above all for smaller and very detailed parts where precision and surface quality matter.

If the resulting model exceeds the working space of the printer, that is not an obstacle. We can divide the object into several parts which we then join or assemble into a single whole. We design the way of dividing with regard to geometry, strength, precision of the joints, transport and the final appearance.

Thanks to the combination of different technologies and the possibility of dividing models, we can also realise objects whose dimensions considerably exceed the working space of individual printers.

How precise is your 3D printing?

Given that we produce above all architectural models, artistic objects and moulds, we place great emphasis on the precision, quality and cleanness of the final workmanship.

The precision of the resulting part is given by the parameters of the printer itself, but the correct preparation of the data, the choice of technology, the orientation of the model, the print settings, the material used and the subsequent finishing are also important.

We therefore pay attention to the cleanness of the production process, regular checking of equipment and materials, and minimising rejects. The goal is to achieve a consistent result that matches the required quality of an architectural model.

For demanding or dimensionally critical parts we can verify the technology in advance on a test sample and adjust the production procedure according to its result.

The specific achievable precision always depends on the geometry, the dimensions and the technology used. If you need to keep a particular dimensional tolerance, we address it individually already during the preparation of production.

What materials do you use for 3D printing?

When choosing a material we take into account not only its technical properties but also its environmental impact. If the character of the project and the required properties of the product allow it, we try to use exclusively PLA for FDM printing.

PLA is a material based on renewable plant sources and, compared with a number of other commonly used plastics, it has a more favourable environmental profile. At the same time it is suitable for the production of architectural and presentation models thanks to its good printability and dimensional stability.

For very detailed parts we also use resin printing from photopolymer resins, which makes it possible to achieve high precision and fine detail. We choose resin only where we genuinely need its properties.

We also choose the material with regard to subsequent processing. 3D printed parts can be sanded, filled, surface-treated and painted, so the resulting model does not have to look like a plastic print.

Can you print very small or detailed objects?

Yes. For small and detailed objects we use above all resin SLA printing, which makes it possible to reproduce fine geometry, small structural elements and details that could be difficult to achieve with ordinary FDM printing.

With architectural models we can work for example with window frames, railings, columns, street furniture, figures, structural elements or complex geometric details.

What always matters, however, is the relationship between detail and scale. Not every detail makes sense merely because it can technically be printed. When preparing a model we therefore assess what is genuinely legible at the given scale and how the detail will affect the overall appearance of the model.

Can a single object be printed from several materials?

Yes, but it depends on the specific type of model and the required result. We can combine several materials above all by dividing the object into individual parts which we produce separately and then assemble.

The individual parts can for example be printed from different materials or produced by different technologies. We can thus combine for example PLA, resin, wood, MDF, plywood, plaster, concrete or other materials.

This procedure allows us to use the properties of the individual materials where they make most sense. The resulting object can thus be more precise, of higher quality and visually more convincing than if it were produced in a single way.

For every project we therefore assess whether multi-colour or multi-material printing, dividing the model into individual parts, or a combination of different production technologies is more suitable.

Can you produce a prototype?

Yes. Prototype production is one of the areas we work in. We can create a prototype of an architectural, design or art object and, according to its character, propose a suitable way of production.

A prototype can be created from supplied 3D data, drawings or other source materials. If the data is not ready for production, we will adjust it or create it ourselves.

With more complex objects a prototype can also serve to verify the geometry, scale, construction, material or production procedure before the realisation of the final object or series.

As needed we combine 3D printing, CNC machining, casting and other technologies. The goal is to create the first piece and test on it a functional and repeatable way of producing it.

Is it possible to supply only the printed parts without subsequent assembly?

Yes. We can supply only the printed parts themselves, or also provide their finishing, surface treatment, completion or assembly into the final model.

We adapt the scope of the commission to your needs. If you have your own production or model-making facilities, we can supply prepared parts and the necessary data without further finishing work.

Conversely, for commissions where a complete result is required, we can provide the whole process from the preparation of the digital data through the production of the individual parts up to their assembly and final finishing.

Art and design

Do you also produce models and objects for artists?

Yes. We collaborate with artists on the realisation of models, prototypes, objects and spatial works, for which an individual way of production often has to be found.

We can work with a digital design as well as with a physical original and, as needed, provide its conversion into the required scale, material or final form.

With art projects it is often not only about the production itself. We help to find a technological solution that respects the author's intention and at the same time makes its physical realisation possible. We combine 3D printing, CNC machining, casting, manual work and other procedures.

The result may be a one-off object, a prototype, part of an installation or a series. We approach every project individually according to its concept, material and way of presentation.

Can you create a physical object from an artist's design?

Yes. We can convert an artistic design, concept or digital model into physical form and, together with the author, look for a suitable way of realising it.

The source materials can take various forms – from a precise 3D model through technical drawings to a sketch, a photograph, a physical model or merely the author's concept and idea. According to the available information we create the necessary data and propose a production procedure.

With art projects it is important for us to preserve the author's intention, the character of the object and its final expression. We therefore adapt the technology to the work, not the other way round.

Depending on the project we can combine 3D printing, CNC machining, casting, work with wood, plaster, concrete and other materials. For more demanding realisations we may first create a prototype or a test part and prepare the final production on that basis.

Can you produce a prototype of an art or design object?

Yes. A prototype can be created as a verification of the design, geometry, material, construction or production procedure before the realisation of the final object.

With design and art projects we often collaborate with the author already at the design stage. We help to find a way of converting the intended shape and properties of the object into physical form, or of preparing it for repeated production.

A prototype can be created from digital data, technical documentation, a sketch or a physical sample. Depending on the character of the project we combine 3D printing, CNC machining, casting, manual work and other technologies.

A prototype can thus be a tool for development and for finding the final solution, which subsequently enables high-quality and repeatable production.

Is it possible to combine 3D printing with casting, concrete or other materials?

Yes. Combining different technologies and materials is a routine part of the way we work. 3D printing does not have to be the final technology – it can serve for example as a tool for creating a model, a mould, a pattern or individual parts of the resulting object.

Depending on the character of the project we can combine 3D printing for example with concrete, plaster, bronze, wood, resins, polyurethane and other casting compounds.

With complex shapes we design the whole production procedure so that the individual technologies make use of their strengths. 3D printing can for example create the precise geometry, while the resulting object can subsequently be cast in the required material.

We use this approach above all with prototypes, art objects, design elements and atypical models, where the classic way of production is not suitable or would be too demanding.

Can you produce a series of identical objects?

Yes. We can produce smaller as well as larger series of identical models, objects or their individual parts.

With serial production we first verify the final form and the production procedure on the first piece or on a prototype. We can then optimise the production so that the individual pieces achieve the highest possible degree of conformity, precision and quality.

Depending on the number of pieces, the geometry and the required material we choose the most efficient technology. It may be 3D printing, CNC machining, casting or a combination of several procedures.

With larger series the production procedure can be optimised further with regard to time, material consumption and minimising rejects, without reducing the required quality of the resulting objects.

Do you also help with the development of a structural or production solution?

Yes. With more complex projects you can turn to us already at the design stage. Designing the way of production is one of the areas we specialise in.

Together we look for a solution that makes it possible not only to produce the intended object, but at the same time to preserve its required appearance, precision, material properties and way of use.

We deal for example with dividing the object, structural joints, the choice of material and technology, the preparation of data, the production of a prototype, the creation of moulds or a combination of several production procedures.

With atypical shapes we often look for a solution directly according to the specific geometry. We can thus propose a procedure even for objects where it is not obvious at first sight how to produce them physically.

The goal is to find a solution that is technically feasible, of high quality, repeatable and appropriate to the required budget.

Prototypes and serial production

Do you produce prototypes to order?

Yes. We produce prototypes to order for architects, designers, artists, manufacturers and other clients.

We can start from a finished 3D model, technical documentation, a sketch or merely an idea, and jointly propose a suitable way of realisation. The commission can include not only the production of the prototype itself, but also the preparation of data, adjustment of the geometry and the design of the production procedure.

A prototype can serve to verify the shape, scale, construction, material or technology before the production of the final object or series.

Depending on the character of the project we combine 3D printing, CNC machining, casting, manual work and other technologies. With more complex objects we can gradually create several variants and on their basis look for the most suitable final solution.

Do you produce models for students of architecture and design?

Yes. We also produce models and individual parts for students of architecture, design, art and technical fields.

We can supply a complete model, individual printed or produced parts, or help with the preparation of digital data and the design of a suitable production procedure.

We can work with a finished 3D model, drawings or other source materials. If the data is not ready for production, we can adjust it or create the necessary geometry.

With student projects we respect their specific requirements regarding scale, deadline, budget and way of presentation. If the commission is financially demanding for the student, it is no problem to arrange individually another form of collaboration or a service in return. The specific conditions always depend on the character of the project and on mutual agreement.

Do you help students prepare a model for a school project or final review?

Yes. We can help students with the preparation of a model from the design of the production procedure up to the realisation itself.

We can advise on the choice of scale, material and technology, check or adjust 3D data and prepare the individual parts for 3D printing, CNC machining or another way of production.

With more complex models we jointly look for a solution that matches not only the brief of the project, but also the student's time and financial possibilities. If the student does not have their own 3D model, we can create or complete it according to the available source materials.

Is it possible to order only 3D printing from finished data?

Yes. If you have your own 3D model prepared for printing, we can provide the 3D printing itself without further adjustments or finishing work.

Before printing we naturally check the data so that the model can be produced correctly. If we discover a problem that could affect the result, we will point it out to you and, as agreed, we can also fix it.

You can choose printing only, or extend the scope of the commission to include finishing, surface treatment, completion or further processing.

If you are not sure whether your data is suitable for printing, just send it for assessment.

Can you advise on preparing a model for 3D printing?

Yes. Preparing a model for 3D printing is a routine part of our work and, if needed, we will advise you on it or take care of it ourselves.

We assess above all the geometry, scale, wall thickness, orientation of the model, the necessary supports, the division into individual parts and other parameters that can affect the quality of the resulting print.

With architectural models we also address which details it is appropriate, given the scale, to preserve, simplify or adjust so that they are clearly legible in the resulting model.

If the model is not ready for printing, there is no need to adjust it laboriously in advance. We can prepare the data ourselves and propose a suitable way of production according to the required result.

How long does the production of a student commission take?

The production time depends on the size and complexity of the model, the chosen material and technology, as well as on the extent of the necessary data preparation.

With smaller models and with 3D prints alone, production can be very fast. More complex models, where data has to be prepared, the geometry divided, several parts produced or subsequent finishing carried out, require more time.

We recommend arranging production sufficiently in advance, especially if the model is to be submitted by a specific date for a final review, a competition or a presentation.

If you have a fixed deadline, state it already in your enquiry. We will try to find a solution that matches your time and financial possibilities.

What is the best way to send you an enquiry?

The best way is to arrange things by phone and then send us an e-mail with a short description of the project and the available source materials. You can attach a 3D model, drawings, photographs or other materials you have available.

In the enquiry it is useful to state above all what you need to have produced, the required dimensions or scale, the purpose of the model, the number of pieces, the required deadline and the place of handover.

If you do not yet have all the information or are not sure about a suitable way of production, that does not matter. Get in touch even with incomplete materials – together we will go through the options and propose the next steps.

What should an enquiry for the production of a model contain?

The more information we have, the more precisely we can propose a production procedure and prepare a price quotation. It is not necessary to have everything ready, however – if some information is missing, we will complete it together.

Ideally, state:

  • what you need to have produced and what purpose the model will serve,
  • the required dimensions or scale,
  • the number of pieces,
  • the required material or an idea of the final appearance,
  • the date by which you need the model,
  • the place where the model will be handed over or installed,
  • and attach the available 3D models, drawings, photographs or other source materials.

If you only have a basic idea or a few photographs and do not know how to handle the production technically, get in touch anyway. Designing the production procedure and preparing the necessary data are a routine part of our work.

How quickly do you respond to enquiries?

We try to respond to enquiries as soon as possible, usually within a few working days depending on their scope and complexity.

For simple commissions we can estimate the basic price and deadline very quickly. For more complex projects we first need to go through the available source materials, assess the geometry and propose a suitable production procedure.

If you have a fixed deadline, for example for an architectural competition, an exhibition, a presentation or a final review, please state it already in your first message. That way we can better assess our current production capacity and, if necessary, reserve a production slot in advance.

Will I receive a price quotation before production?

Yes. Before production starts we always prepare a price quotation for you according to the specific brief and the available source materials.

In the calculation we take into account above all the extent of data preparation, the size and complexity of the model, the amount of detail, the number of pieces, material consumption, the chosen technology, subsequent finishing and the required deadline.

With more complex commissions we first go through the production options together and propose a suitable solution. If it turns out during the preparation that the scope of the commission needs to be changed, we consult the changes with you in advance.

We begin production only after the quotation has been approved and the specific conditions of the commission agreed.

Is it possible to approve a prototype or the first part of the model before production starts?

Yes. With more complex or larger commissions it is often beneficial to produce first a prototype, a test sample or a selected part of the model and to consult its execution together.

This procedure makes it possible, before the whole production starts, to verify for example the scale, the level of detail, the material, the colour scheme, the surface, the structural solution or the overall visual impression.

On the basis of your comments we can adjust the digital data or the production procedure and only then continue with the realisation of the whole model.

For projects where the resulting impression of the model matters, we consider this way of working very useful. It helps to prevent misunderstandings and to ensure that the resulting model matches the client's idea.

How does payment work?

We always set the method of payment and its conditions according to the character and scope of the specific commission.

With smaller commissions payment can take place after production is completed. With larger or materially more demanding projects, a deposit for material and production costs may be required before production starts.

With longer-term or larger realisations, payment can be divided into individual stages according to the progress of production.

The specific payment conditions are always stated in the price quotation or in the agreement made before the commission starts.

Do you send finished models by courier?

As a standard we do not send finished models by an ordinary courier service. We transport models personally to their destination so that we have control over their safe transport and handover.

For large or sensitive models we can prepare an individual transport case or structure that protects the model during transport. If the model is composed of several parts, we can, as needed, transport it disassembled and put it together on site.

For selected commissions we can also provide the placement or installation of the model on site.

Is it possible to collect a finished commission in person?

Yes. A finished commission can be collected in person at our premises in Liberec by prior arrangement.

With larger or more sensitive models we recommend consulting personal collection in advance so that we can prepare a suitable way of handling and, if appropriate, also a transport case.

If you cannot collect the commission in person, as a standard we transport it to its destination ourselves. With larger models we can also provide their assembly or installation on site.

Is an order sufficient, or is it necessary to conclude a contract?

With ordinary commissions, production can be carried out on the basis of an approved price quotation and an order. By placing an order the customer agrees to our general terms and conditions, which set out the basic rules of the collaboration.

Before production starts, the scope of the commission, the price, the deadline and the way of handover are always agreed.

For commissions with a value of CZK 50,000 and above we conclude a contract for work. It sets out in detail the conditions of the specific realisation, the scope of work, the price, the deadlines, the way of handover and any further requirements of the project.

A contract for work is also important with larger and more demanding realisations because it clearly defines the conditions of the collaboration and provides certainty to both parties.
